Adding a Gallery to Web Pages

To add a gallery to a web page you must insert a Gallery Tag in the content of the page. Each gallery has a unique tag associated with it. A tag can be inserted into a page by copying and pasting the tag into the content of a page or by using the Insert Tag feature located above the WYSIWYG content editor on every page. xCatalyst will render the tag as a link to the gallery on the web page. The link will display the custom text that you replace the [click here] text with.

To add a gallery link do the following:

  • Navigate to the page that will contain the link text and click on the EZEdit icon to open the page editor.
  • Click on the Insert Tag drop list and select the Photo Gallery tag. The page will refresh to display a drop list with of available photo galleries.
  • Select the Photo Gallery from the drop list.
  • The gallery tag will be placed at the top of the page on the content editor.
  • Replace the "Click here" text in the tag with the link text you would like to appear on the page.
  • Highlight the tag and drag it to the desired position on the page (you can also cut and paste the tag).

Note: Make sure that the tag is enclosed by dollar signs or it will not be rendered properly. Do not accidentally delete the colon between the gallery ID number and the link text.
