To add a gallery to a web page you must insert a Gallery Tag in the content of the page. Each gallery has a unique tag associated with it. A tag can be inserted into a page by copying and pasting the tag into the content of a page or by using the Insert Tag feature located above the WYSIWYG content editor on every page. xCatalyst will render the tag as a link to the gallery on the web page. The link will display the custom text that you replace the [click here] text with.
To add a gallery link do the following:
Note: Make sure that the tag is enclosed by dollar signs or it will not be rendered properly. Do not accidentally delete the colon between the gallery ID number and the link text.
Gallery Tag – add this tag to a content page to display a link to the photo gallery - $ LC:PHOTOGALLERY:Gallery ID:click here to view the gallery $
Featured Photo Tag – Add this tag to a page to display the featured photo for this gallery - $ LC:PHOTOFEATURE:Gallery ID:[area name]:[0-Link to Photo, 1-Link to Gallery] $
Thumbnail Tag – Add this tag to a content page to display the thumbnail of this photo - $ LC:PHOTOTHUMB:Image ID $
Photo Link – Add this tag to a content page to display a link to this photo - $ LC:PHOTOLINK:Image ID $
Note: Only the Gallery Tag is available from the tag insertion tool in the content editor. You can cut and paste or type in the gallery tag for other gallery features.
Note: To add a shadowbox to the images on the page, you must add the area AC:AREAEX:ShadowBoxArea.
