A page is checked out when a content editor clicks on the EZEdit icon. Once a page is checked out no other content editor can make changes to the page until the page is checked back in. You can tell if you have a page checked out because it is listed on your Workspace page. If another content editor has a page checked out the system will replace the EZEdit icon with the editor's User ID that has the page checked out. To check a page out do the following:
Clicking on the EZEdit icon will open the page with the WYSIWYG content editor. As soon as you check a page out an Undo Checkout icon will appear on your workspace and on the Menus or Independent Page lists.
When a page is checked out it can be checked in without saving any changes that were made while it was checked out. If you click the Undo Checkout link on the workspace, menus or independent page listings you will be prompted to confirm your request and reminded that all changes made while the page was checked out will be lost. Site administrators can check in pages, currently checked out by other users, by going to "My workspace" clicking on "Workspace for all Users" at the top right, and clicking undo check out next to the page in question. Again, you will be reminded that all changes made while the page was checked out will be lost.
While a page is checked out, every time the content editor saves the page a checkout history archive is created. This feature enables a content editor to rollback to any previously saved version. As soon as the page is checked in, the checkout history is lost.
