Enter Field Properties

Each field has properties. Properties that can be set include:

  • Type – select the type that applies to this field from the drop list. For a field to show up on the form it must have a valid field type.

  • Page Order – determines if the form will be a multi-page form.  Default for Order is 1.

  • Field Order – determines in what order the fields will be displayed.  Default for Order is 0. Negative numbers are acceptable. An order of 0 will display the field after the ones with positive And negative order values. Note: order fields in increments of 10 to leave room to easily insert new fields.

  • Display Text – Click the Add link in the Display Text column to enter the label for the field (what will be displayed to the left of the field).  If Display Text is left blank the field label will default to the Field Name.

  • Help Text – This is the text that is displayed to the right of each field. Click the Add link to add Help text.

  • Is Required – Check this box if the field is a required field . These fields will have an asterisk (*) next to the left of the field on the form to indicate that they are required.

  • Searchable – Check this box if the field will become part of the search filter for the form database.

  • Save changes.

To remove a field from the form set the field type to Unselect.

NOTE: If you remove fields from a form that has already had form submissions/actions, the existing form actions will be affect and the fields removed, will also be removed from the form actions. In this situation, we recommend to simply keep the fields on the form, but "hide" them. To do so, set the fields type as "NONE".
