Frequently Asked Questions

1. I made a change, but I don't see it on the website. Why isn't it showing up?

If the changes were to a menu page, make sure that the page has processed through the Queue before refreshing the page. If the change is visible when the page is saved and previewed, the changes have been saved, and may take a minute to show up. However, pages must have been published for the changes to show up on the main WWW site. If in doubt, publish it again. If the change was made to an area, the page(s) it appears on may need to be rebuilt also. Rebuild and Publish them as well, if possible.

If you are SURE absolutely everything has been published, but it is still not showing up correctly go to the page where the change should be visible and press Ctrl + F5. (This clears the cache of the browser allowing it to refresh the page properly) If the new content is still not appearing after all of that, feel free to send an email to support@esxinc.com (include the URL of the page) and we'll try to figure out what is going wrong.

2. How do I create a new page? Does ESX have to create the menu pages?

ESX does not need to create new pages. Both Menu Pages and Independent pages can be created quickly and easily by following these simple steps.

3. How do I delete a page that is no longer wanted on the website?

The steps are pretty simple: click on the EZEdit button next to the page to be deleted (the button that is usually used to make content changes). Then click Edit in the top right corner. The page that should come up will have a checkbox next to the word "Enabled." Uncheck the box, and save to effectively delete the page.

Don't worry, if you complete these steps by accident, the page isn't lost forever, it's just been taken off the website. A copy of the page still remains in the archives if you ever need to bring it back.

4. There is some text I would like to change, but I don't know where the text is. How can I find it?

If the text you are looking for isn't showing up in the EZEdit window of the page it appears on, or the text is on a page that doesn't show up anywhere under Content Management (it is content on a page drawn from the association database). The text you are looking for is most likely in an area. (Content Management -> Areas) Copy a little bit of the text, and search for that in the "content" portion of the area search. It should bring up the area where the text is stored; click edit to make adjustments. Once you are satisfied with the content, save and publish the area. Sometimes the page(s) the area appears on may need to be rebuilt as well, although this is not the case with association pages, or live pages.
