Linking to Course Materials

Linking Content to the Course Registration

  1. Now that your content and course have been created, it’s time to link the two together.
  2. You will need to view your new page in the WWW (live) environment, on the actual page content and not the Login screen. You can do this by clicking on the name of the page from the list of Independent Pages and then either logging in to see the page (if you registered for this session) or remove the tag for COURSELOGIN and then you can view the page without being prompted for a login.
    • You can also simply hover over the name of the page, from the list of independent pages, to view the URL in the bottom left corner of your screen
  3. When you view the page from the xCatalyst platform, the page will open in a new window in the Stage version. In the address bar of the pop up window, change the Stage to WWW and copy this link/URL.
    • Example: http://www.mywebsite.com/web/CourseMaterials.asp
  4. Switch back to the Association Database and locate your Course for this page.
  5. Edit the Course
  6. In the field called “Special Instructions”, you will add the following code to link to the Course Content
<p>In order to take this online course, please <a href="https://www.mywebsite.com/web/CourseMaterials.asp">Click Here</a><br>Please note: This link will expire in 30 days.</p>
      • It is important to use HTML in this area because it will translate to a hyperlink in the body of the approval email that the registrant receives.

      • You can change the text in the above message to suit your needs.

  1. Replace the URL above with the URL to your page. Your link should look exactly like the one above, except for the site and page name. The contents of the Special Instructions field will be automatically pulled to the Approval Email that the registrant receives once their registration has been approved.
  2. You are now finished setting up an online course with content.

NOTE: It is a good idea to run through the registration process as a user would to ensure the content is correct and make any adjustments.
