Parent/Child Records

There are three sections in FIS that have parent/child records and require special data entry guidelines:

1. Honors & Awards
2. Formal Teaching
3. Professional Memberships/Activities

Rule #1: The multi-picker will not be available for parent records saved with no children; therefore to use the multi-picker, a parent record must be accompanied by a child record.

Rule #2: Output selections are based on the child record. This means that for a parent record to appear on an output, a selection must be made for at least one child under that parent
